Iranian blockbuster ‘Sun Children’ is slated to vie at Rome Film Fest in Italy.

Directed by prominent Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi, the film will be screened at the Alice Section of the 2020 edition of the Italian event.

The film has recently won awards and acclamations at the 2020 Venice International Film Festival in Italy.

Written by Nima Javidi and jointly produced by Majidi and Amir Banan, the social drama focuses on labor kids.

Majidi’s flick narrates the story of a 12-year-old boy and his three friends, who have been asked by a neighborhood crime boss to find a treasure buried underground.

Popular stars appearing in the flick are Javad Ezzati, Ali Nasiriyan and Tannaz Tabatabaee.

Majidi is one of Iran’s prominent filmmakers. His movie ‘Children of Heaven’ was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in the late 1990s.

The Rome Film Fest, which features children-related works, was established in February 2007 to promote cinema at a local, national and international level.

It hosts a large and challenging program of screenings, master classes, tributes, retrospectives, panels, and special events.

The 15th edition of the event is currently underway from October 15-25, 2020.
